Jeffrey Snyder, Plainview City Manager, was recently appointed to serve on the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP) Board of Trustees Place 3. He will fill an unexpired term for Place 3 which runs until October 2020.

“It is important for City staff to serve on state and regional boards,” said Mayor Wendell Dunlap. “Staff not only brings back knowledge and information that will improve City services but it is also an opportunity for us to have a presence in these great organizations.”

The Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP) is the leading provider of workers' compensation, liability, and property coverage as well as offering various training programs for local governments in Texas. Founded in 1974, TMLIRP is the oldest and largest pool of its type in the United States, serving over 2800 governments and political subdivisions.

Serving as the Plainview City Manager for five years, Snyder began his career as the Idalou City Manager and served as the Assistant City Manager in Plainview before becoming City Manager. He received his undergraduate degree from West Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Texas Tech University and serves as the president of the Panhandle City Manager’s Association, a member of the International City Manager’s Association and Plainview Lion’s Club.
